When we decided that we needed to have a tool shed on site, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Treasure stepped up to build the shed, while another company, Draw Fire, donated the materials. Having a tool shed here makes it so easy to store not only our tools but our seeds and our volunteer workbooks, our harvest workbooks, etc.
All of the produce that is grown here in the garden is donated to Share the Table, which is our local food bank serving Pender and Onslow counties. In part, the mission of Share the Table is to respond to God's call to nourish our community by providing food where there is hunger, fellowship, where there is loneliness, and education to end the cycle of food insecurity.
As of June 10, 2024, more than 870 pounds of produce have been donated and distributed to our neighbors. That’s a value of more than $6,500.
