Shine Bright For Ernie

It's Christmas time, and lights twinkle from homes, trees, and decorations. But if you were to drive down Winery Road in Sneads Ferry, one home stood out and used to shine just a bit brighter.  Every year Ernie Henderson would deck his lawn with brilliant lights and decor that drew in locals and visitors alike. It was a known attraction that was quite a sight to see, and it never disappointed. For over a decade, Ernie and his family put on this display to bring joy to all, many folks came to take pictures and admire the view. Sometimes you would even catch Ernie in his Santa Gear wishing folks a Merry Christmas. So many families started their own Christmas traditions by planning a night to stand in awe and enjoy the Christmas Cheer that was provided by the Henderson Family. Many locals changed their routes to or from wherever they were heading at night just to do a drive by and catch the bright lights. 

This year, the lights will shine a little differently. Ernie is no longer shining his light on earth, but has moved on to be a bright light in the heavens. We want to honor his cherished tradition by inviting all of you to join in the spirit of Christmas that Ernie upheld each year. Shine Bright for Ernie this year by decking your home, business, or organization with Christmas lights and share them with us! 

Please join us in honoring the legacy of this local icon. #ShineBrightForErnie is going to be the start of our new tradition to keep his Christmas Spirit living.

Submissions Start Date: November 28th

Submissions End Date: December 15

How to Participate:

1. Submit a minimum of 2 photos of different angles (3 is even better!)
   1. 1. 🚨 Entry must include *Name, *Address, *Phone Number, and *Email.
         (This information will remain private, will not be sold to any third party, will only be used to contact participants for information verification and to announce the winner)
2. Lights can be in the yard or on home (or both!)
3. Submissions will be reviewed and the finalists will be picked on Dec 16.
4. December 17-22 everyone is invited to vote! We will share the finalists online and ask the community to choose our winner.
5. Winner is announced December 23

Prizes:

2. Second Place Winner Receives 🎁 $100 Visa Gift Card 🎁 Better Homes & Gardens cookbook 🎁 1 year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens Magazine
3. Third Place Winner Receives 🎁 $50 Visa Gift Card 🎁 Better Homes & Gardens cookbook 🎁 1 year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens Magazine
