Meet TIM BAKER

Tim Baker calls Topsail Island home and believes that quiet walks on the beach amplify a good life. Fueled by faith and family, Tim’s heart lies in Eastern North Carolina. A native, born and bred in Onslow County, he played sports for White Oak High School in Jacksonville, spent his summers at the local beaches with family and friends, formed lifelong relationships with the community he reveres, plus met his beautiful wife, Patty, in the tenth grade.

A graduate of UNC Chapel Hill in 1987, he was one of the original founders of Treasure Realty, along with Richard Baker, his mentor. As the current founder and president of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Treasure, his education, experience, and proficiency in the real estate field complement each other as he serves the community he calls home.

Tim is an expert in residential and commercial sales, real estate development, and has a vast knowledge of tenant/landlord law. His extensive expertise and experience are assets to his professional relationships, but that’s not all; as a local commercial, residential, and multifamily investor himself, he understands the depth of concern of the people he serves, which offers his clients a compassionate and considerate partner. As Theodore Roosevelt spoke about the arena, Tim has been where his clients are going, and he understands the process and feelings of making substantial, important financial decisions.

Driven by his faith and family, Tim is devoted to service in and out of the community. At the core of his heart, Tim loves to serve; he is on the board of Map International, a Christian global health organization that brings life-saving medicine and health services to people in need around the world. He and his wife, Patty, are the owners of the Salt and Light Christian Center which hosts many church, youth, and business retreats on Topsail Island. He attributes any successes to his Lord Jesus Christ, his family, friends, and trusted co-workers.

He and Patty live on North Topsail Beach and spend as much time as they can with their two children and daughter-in-law, who are all UNC Chapel Hill alumni; Go Heels! Their daughter, Carly, is an attorney in Raleigh; their son, Ty, is a retail entrepreneur with four stores in NC, SC, and GA; and their daughter-in-law, Allison, is a pediatric ICU nurse at Duke. Tim and Patty love using their season tickets to UNC basketball and football games and so enjoy attending Carolina Hurricane games.
